Best Picture Spots in Central Park
Let’s draw some comparisons. Number one – if you’re like us, you love Central Park. And you miss it. Number two – if you’re like us, then you enjoy taking photos on beautiful places. Number tree – you can’t wait to get back in the park when all is over and you’re even making plans. Well, we’re quite sure that you’re a lot like us, so we’re going to introduce you to some of the most picturesque places in Central Park, ideal for your pictures.
The very heart of the park! It appeared in several movies, and is one of the most beautiful places in whole New York City! Whether you take a picture on top of the arcade or a selfie with the Angel of Waters (who is said to bless and purify the waters of NYC), or just a photo of the view, or you went beneath it, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a park “regular” or a tourist, be sure that your picture will be “red hot” in Facebook or Instagram!
One of the most romantic places in Central Park, it even featured in “Spiderman 3” (but in a rather hear-breaking scene). The gorgeous bridge goes over The Lake and provides a magnificent location for couple selfies. If you’re a keen photographer you can play with the reflection of the nearby threes and the cityscape in the distance. One of the popular legends was that there were huge cannonballs in the foundation, but it turned out to be just a rumor.
What’s better than a picture amidst all those three, as if you’re standing in a green tunnel? We’ll tell you – nothing! Another cool feature is that this tunnel can change colors – from white, to green up to golden and light brown. It is a preferred location for wedding photos. You may kiss the bride!
“Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields”. Whether you’re a Beatles fan, a melomaniac, or just an ordinary visitor – this place a must see. Named after the famous British song, this place is dedicated to world peace. The Imagine mosaic is in the center of the field. You can often find flowers left by fans in homage to John Lennon, who lived and died nearby.
The Best for Last! It’s like out of a fairytale – a castle next to a lake, it’s only missing a resident princess. Or a prince. Or a royal couple. But you can take the role (#couplegoals) and make some amazing photos/selfies that will surely get you a lot of likes on the social networks. You can also get an explorer kit and have some bird watching. And to add the cherry to the cake, it is situated on Central Park’s highest point, so the opportunities for photos are limitless!
Bonus: The Carousel
You can add a retro vibe with the vintage-styled horses (they are just like the old merry-go-rounds at the fairs in the old movies). Be it black and white, or in color, the photos will surely be amazing. And if you know a thing or two about photography (and have a better than average camera) you can make long exposure photos. The motion and lighting blur will turn them into magic!
We miss Central Park! But for now – we need to stay safe, so stick to making plans and looking pictures…at least for now. Soon enough all will be over. And the day that we return there will be glorious!
