New York To-Do List 12/06 12/12: Christmas is Just Behind the Corner
Christmas is almost upon us, and the To-Do List gets stacked – events keep popping up all over New York, and some charities start officially opening their holiday campaigns in the week between 12/06 and 12/12.
Andrea Bocelli at the Madison Square Garden
Opera superstar Andrea Bocelli embarked on a large-scale tour, featuring dates in North and South America, as well as Europe. He planned to be in the Madison Square Garden for only one night – Dec. 15, Wednesday, but due to high ticket demand, the Italian tenor added a second date – Thursday, Dec. 16.
The two dates in the Madison Square Garden are part of the Believe World Tour. Besides promoting Andrea Bocelli’s most-recent album Believe, the tour is part of a large charity campaign backed by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and PLUS1. So, $1 from every ticket sale will go towards empowering people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, and distress due to illness and social exclusion.
Besides its noble cause, Believe celebrates the ability of music to heal the soul. The tour setlist includes a selection of arias, his beloved crossover hits, and famed love songs.
